The Mossari Low-Profile Aquarium Wicking Pot combines a compact planting chamber with a rounded, decorative design that sits close to the waterline. It adds lush greenery above your tank while maintaining a cleaner, more integrated appearance than a traditional mounted flowerpot.

Your aquarium becomes the planter’s water reservoir.

How the Wicking System Works

A wick extends from the planter into the aquarium. Water is continuously drawn upward through capillary action and distributed throughout the growing medium, helping maintain consistent moisture around the plant’s roots.

No pumps. No plumbing. No daily watering.

Plants can also use nutrients drawn from the aquarium water, allowing the planter to become a functional extension of your aquarium ecosystem.

LECA – Clean Semi-Hydro Growing

Fill the planter with rinsed LECA for a clean, airy semi-hydroponic setup. The wicking system supplies moisture from below while the spaces between the clay pebbles maintain airflow around the roots.

LECA is easy to handle, reusable and ideal for growers who prefer a soil-free planting method.

Inert Wicking Substrate – Aquarium-Fed Growing

Mossari’s fertilizer-free inert substrate combines coco coir, coco chips and perlite to provide moisture retention, aeration and reliable capillary movement.

Plants receive moisture and nutrients from the aquarium without added fertilizers or amendments.

Enriched Wicking Substrate – Added Nutrient Support

For stronger establishment and additional root-zone nutrition, choose Mossari’s enriched substrate blend. This option is especially useful for lightly stocked aquariums, newer tanks or plants that may need more nutrients than the aquarium alone can provide.

Designed for Living Displays

The low-profile shape keeps the planter visually connected to the aquarium rather than suspended far above it. Its rounded exterior gives it the appearance of a finished decorative pot while concealing the functional wicking system inside.

It works especially well with ferns, pothos, philodendrons, syngoniums, peace lilies, begonias and other tropical or moisture-loving houseplants.
